womanondeck.jpg  It’s Tuesday morning 6:00 AM.  Freshly showered I am in my robe and wrapped in a blanket on our second floor patio.  The wind rustles gently through the leaves and I can see the glow of the sun rising to the east.  Coffee in hand and my laptop sharing a spot with a purring Lucky the cat, it is the perfect start to my day. I am a person who has thought a lot about quality of life, about how to get the most out of my moments.  One thing I have been clear on for some time is that THIS is how I choose to spend my mornings, everyday, all year round.

If you are unfamiliar with my path to this point, after 27 years in northern Canada, I moved to Arizona for 7 years before my most recent adventure to Ohio to be with my fabulous husband. When I moved, I moved with a two year plan.  The two year plan was that we find a “how” and a “where” for our next destination – a home in the sun and the warmth and the trees. Sigh.

It is so interesting for me because I can describe it to a tee.  I will know it when I see it, the deck in the trees, the wide expanses of windows, the friendly neighborhood with more trees than it has grass to mow, more like a cabin at the lake than a home in suburbs.  I will know it when I see it and the countdown has begun.  I can actually feel the momentum as I move into the spring and summer which marks the end of my last winter in Cleveland.

I do not know exactly where this new place is, nor am I clear how it will happen, I only know, it is time to begin the search and I know when it is complete, I will be home. Do you know this place I am speaking of?  Warm, sunny, green, with community? Is it wine country? Ashville? Austin? If you have any thoughts on this I invite you to share your thoughts with me in the comments below.

In the meantime, Lucky and I will enjoy warming in the sun as we ease into the gentle embrace of the coming summer.

Love,

Joelle

Within weeks I had opportunities coming out of the woodwork!  I love how fabulous life is! (anyone know where that expression "coming out of the woodwork" comes from? It is kinda creepy now I think about it:-) )

Thank you Kristen Kaleal, Image Consultant Extraordinaire, for getting me connected to the fabulous women of Cleveland! Enjoy gearing up for your Monday festivities everyone!

Hugs!

Joelle

P.S.  If you know of a publication or newspaper that is just waiting for the Coach Joelle message please let me know.  I love the writing process and it is a way to bring more love, joy and empowerment to the world.  Thank you!

joelle032.jpg  Hi guys!  It has been a really exciting time at Coach Joelle Inc. and I wanted to share a couple of the latest developments with you. One of the coolest things I want to share with you is about the first installment of what my friend Kristen is calling “The Coach Joelle Club” :-) but I like to call the GirlPower Mastermind!

A couple Friday’s ago I brought together some of my favorite women in service of our businesses and it was one incredible Morning! I am so clear at this point in time, that with all I am out to create I need to reach out beyond myself. I am clear that for my contribution to be it’s biggest and best I need to bring in the insight, critique and expertise of other subject matter experts, hence the creation of the Cleveland Mastermind.

I distinguish this group as the Cleveland Mastermind because it is not to be confused with the amazing women I have in my Arizona Mastermind. You may remember Tonetta Weaver – future academy award winning actress, from a previous Livloud Profile. Well, she and Joan Jakel Business Attourney and enlighten superwoman extraordinaire and I have been meeting for years and continue meeting weekly via teleconference.  These woman have been my rock, my path to enlightenment, and the mirror I need to remind me who I am and what I am capable of.  (I love you girls!)

One morning 2 months ago I woke up and got very clear that I needed to create this kind of synergy and power here in my Ohio world and hence the Cleveland Mastermind was born. Participants in our very first meeting included Leslie Carruthers, the search engine guru and Kristen Kaleal, the personal stylist and image consultant who professes the opportunity to be “always appropriate but NEVER boring”!

Leslie sharing her business vision Here is Leslie sharing herself and the vision for her business.  As is the way of the mastermind, the energy in the room was electric. After introductions and sharing what we saw that we could each bring to and take away from the group we naturally flowed into a brainstorm about each other’s businesses.  The room was just humming, the ideas flowing and the end result was at least one 1,000,000 idea, a brand new keynote speech, a total revamp of my business, and an incredible camaraderie and affinity among the members.

My new keynote   The brainstorm that lead to my fabulous new keynote speach! As a result, my new business card is being prepared for printing as we speak and adjustments to coachjoelle.com are in the works.  For me the coolest thing I got is that while I have been focusing on Life Coaching (after 4 years being an executive coach) I got in touch with the fact that I really do love the business coaching.  I love it, that is, as long as I am doing it the “coach joelle” way.  So on the tail end of our meeting, I got that I am ready to serve business with the same passion, power and commitment to Joy that I serve my life coaching clients and I cannot wait! As a result I have changed my message to this:

Professional Coaching for business and life.  Because you really can have it all!

I realized that while I had been trying to separate the two areas (life and business) that I simply cannot, because in my world the two are inexorably integrated. I believe that you can have a life that delights and inspires you and that includes your work…because you really can have it all. Ahhhh.  The freedom in this is so beautiful and the future looks so bright! So much fun on the horizon!

Watch for the changes to the website (www.coachjoelle.com) as we take it to the next level and keep posted for new breaking developments!!

So much love your way!

Coach Joelle

YAY Me!

That last post was my very first post with a picture! A whole new level of web complexity has been mastered!! Ok, maybe not mastered, but a great step in the right direction!  I see many delightful images in our future my friends!!

Huzzah!!

Coach J!

Coach Joelle Hi guys.  I know I have been sorta laying low.  There are so many details which account for my online quietness but I will give you a general overview of what I’ve been up to.

A few weeks ago I got very clear on something.  I got clear that the vastness of my vision for this business will be realized in time. That its realization is inevitable and that I will not be realizing it all right now.  I also go clear that what there is to do for me right now is have a breakthrough in owning my capacity to create whatever I choose and specifically, at this point in time to earn whatever I would like to earn.

The earning conversation is an interesting one.  I know that this work changes lives. Period.   It makes dreams into reality. It brings peace and ease and magic to the flow of life. This I know. Where I have been challenged at times is in how to bring the message of what coaching is succinctly to the community.  How do I show people the difference this can make in their lives? How do I represent what Coach Joelle Inc. can bring?  How do I do it “right” and behind that, the concern that if I do not ”do it right” all will be lost. I have recently had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with some marketing guru’s including participating in a 15 month course with Jay Abraham and having a heart to heart conversation with my friend Shelley Freed.  Through these conversations and explorations I was able to get really clear on a couple of things and I was able to start seeing the world and the sales process in a whole new light.

I can see now how I have fallen into the trap of taking the “selling game” personally. You see, I have an age old conversation about no one coming to my party. Yep.  Some where is me there is a frightened 13 year old that is afraid that I will throw a party, no one will show up and it will just prove, once and for all that I am a big loser. :-) (So so sad isn’t it.)

What this has looked like in my work is that a “no” has equaled rejection on some level, and that a lack of response to a promotion or opportunity meant that there was no value in what I was doing.  Ah, sweet Joelle, how naive! How adorable.  How misguided and self defeating.  This point of view, while totally understandable, is inaccurate and unproductive.  In Jay Abraham’s work I have come to understand that everything is about testing testing testing.  Try it this way, change the tag line, change the demographic, try this try that and eventually you will know what works.  This is very different than what I was doing which was -  send out an announcement once ( because I would not want to bug people. Sigh.) and if the response was less than stellar, chalk it up as unsuccessful and table the program for the next 2 years.  Too funny! When I talked to Shelly she told me about how she had sent out 2500 direct mail pieces to get 130 people to an event.  This is really what it takes… it really is a numbers game! And suddenly… I got it!

What I got is that Marketing, like everything else I have mastered in life, is merely a set of skills, a set of conversations, and a set of distinctions to learn. If I keep learning and growing and assimilating I will at some point be able to effectively and accurately cause 2000 people to come to an event just as easily as I can coach a leader in how to get the best from their people, or support someone in finding love without compromise.  Like everything from walking to brain surgery this is merely something to learn and on the other side it will look easy and effortless. So if I “just keep swimming” as the little blue fish from Finding Nemo would say, all will be well. The other thing that I got was that in order for me to learn this skill, to test test test to be able to cause transformation at the level I am committed to, I totally had to get off the “no one is coming to my party” story.

I can now see that it is my job to invite as many people to the party as possible.  I need to invite them all the time.  To not invite them is robbing them of opportunity. It is robbing them of their power and of their future. I must invite and know that some will take the invitation, and others will file the invitation for another day, and still others will leave the invitation on the bench, which is great because maybe someone else will pick it up who was looking for just such an invitation!! Within 3 days of this new clarity I have entered into 2 new strategic alliances, have initiated 3 new conversations for possible coaching with businesses and signed an agreement with a fortune 500 company which has the potential to finance all of the other fabulous things that I want to bring to the world. So I have been a little busy and the coolest thing is that I am having a blast with it! And as it always goes, while I am out consciously causing my future the miracles pick up. I have had 3 unsolicited invitations for paid speaking in the last week alone.  :-)

So all is well in the world of coach Joelle and I am very please to say that I am going to be making some VERY BIG invitations to some HUGE parties in the not to distant future because I throw a really great party :-) !

I love you!  Thank you for sharing this journey with me.

Joelle

One Smart Donkey

I received this email from a dear soul in my life, Kathi Rose.  I think this is one darn insightful message.  Read it and keep it close because life’s piles of dirt can sometimes catch you off guard.

Enjoy,

Coach Joelle

The Donkey     One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well.  The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.    Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.    He  invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.    Then, to everyone’s amazement, he quieted down.    A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.    He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!    Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to  getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.    Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up! www.simpletruths.com Can I hear an AMEN!

Hello!  If I seem to be missing on the blogging scene it is because I have been out living adventures a little more than I have been home writing about them. Some of you were with me when I hit a rough patch last week.  I have been on a personal quest the last 6 months that has been a truly miraculous journey and then about a month ago I got lost.

Not “totally deep in the forest no chance of return” lost.

Just sorta, “ok, so I am here, and I want to be there, but I keep being here, and I know I will at some point get there but can we hurry it up already” kind of lost.

As an aside – this has been a major development in my life that I am actually ok with being lost from time to time. In fact, I would say lost is kind of a misnomer. It may feel “lost” but those quiet, unclear times are all part of the journey.  I am very grateful that I am able to be with those times with much more ease these days instead of making them “a problem” or a sign of certain doom.

This weekend I found my way out and what a delight to be my livloud self again! It is so funny but I saw an immediate response from people around me.  That is what happens when your light shines everyone notices and that is SO MUCH FUN!! More than others noticing, it feels like freedom.

I have been so jazzed by life that Saturday I did not sleep.  I have never done that before and I am completely astonished how not only did I not sleep all night  but I went to bed the Sunday night at 10:30 and did not even take a nap in between.  How fascinating!!

Imagine if I could pick one night a week where I got to play all night creating, paining, writing, with no physical or emotional repercussions to not sleeping.  Now that is something to look into! Anyway. I have so much to share but it will have to wait. I just wanted to end my radio silence, let you know I am feeling amazing and very excited about life and to say hi! My wish for you is that you are experiencing the joy of life and celebrating this lovely spring day.

Hugs to you!
